The University of Dayton volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield will be the featured speaker at the UD Flyers Club meeting tonight, Jan. 21, at the Kennedy Union. The 8:15 p.m. meeting is free to the public.

After some streaky play in the first three games Monday, the New Hartford girls volleyball team served its way to separation from Sauquoit Valley in Game 4. The Spartans’ 25-17 victories in Games 3 and 4 were the largest point difference in a 3-1 win, and gave New Hartford breathing room after nip-and-tuck action in the first two games.

The Grimes Recreation Department is offering an adult volleyball night at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at North Ridge Elementary School, 400 N.W. 27th St. Players can just show up and be placed on a team to play on one of two courts.
